Do you find that there aren’t enough hours in the day? Do you feel like you add more to your to do list than you take off? Are you busy everyday but it seems like nothing gets done?
You are not alone! I was there, I would begin every day with a to do list and begin to tackle it. At the end of the day I would review my to do list to see what has been accomplished and it seemed as though the important items still remained.
As a Lifestyle Transformation Coach, I have come to the conclusion that it is human nature to put off the hard, time consuming tasks and do the easy, pleasurable tasks first. It feels good checking off tasks from your to do list, but how often do you feel accomplished? You dread doing the hard tasks, and then you dread seeing them still on your list.
I have taken organization webinars and seminars. I am an amazing organizer but I still struggled with accomplishing those dreaded tasks. Then these tasks began to grow and I became stuck. I wasn’t moving my business forward and I wasn’t hitting the deadline I gave myself for certain goals. I knew if I was going to succeed I needed to change my ways.
That is when I read this amazing book The One Thing by Gary Keller. He talks about how if you only do ONE thing every day let it be something that will help you achieve your goals. Sounds simple right? And it was. Instead of creating this long to do list of everything that needed to get done, I went back to the basics. As a stay at home mom who also homeschools and runs a business my one thing was actually 3 things.
Each night I would ask myself what is the one thing I need to do to:
1. Move my business forward
2. Educated my child
3. Keep my sanity
Boom just like that, I was able to get my life on track. I was accomplishing my daily tasks and finding that I actually had free time to do other things and accomplish other tasks that weren’t on my list.
We teach you how to do this and so much more when you take the 5 Week Transformation Course. But as you read this, I challenge you to begin doing your ONE thing today.
What is a goal that you have?
When do you want the complete the goal?
What is one thing you can do today that will help you get closer to achieving your goal?
That’s it, just that simple. As you begin to implement it on a continual basis you will see a dramatic shift in your life. You will not only feel more accomplished but also notice how much more free time you have.
You know what to do now do it!
