Do you see the earth in all her beauty?
The way the clouds are painted across the sky, the many colors of the leaves on the trees, the way the birds sing and fly.
Do you see the world in her distain?
Homelessness, abandoned houses, panhandling, crime, prostitution, war. The media does a great job of highlighting the negatives of the world.
How you see the world determines how you treat people. If you see the beauty of the world you are most likely a loving caring person, who is always lending a helping hand. If you see the world as a negative place you are most likely a skeptic. Thinking people always want a handout, you find it hard to trust people.
There are so many factors that determine how and why we view the world the way we do. Our upbringing, life experiences, relationships, things we have learned in our life journey. But one thing is for sure, birds of a feather flock together. Meaning the people you associate with think just like you.
What if I told you the world was this amazing place and every person on earth was this loving caring person always willing to lend a helping hand? Would you believe me?
Probably not, but it is! Think of yourself, you have no problem helping a friend or family member. You have no problem showing love and affection to someone you care about. We’ve been conditioned to prejudge instead of being conditioned to love. However, if we all made a conscious effort to take that caring, loving, compassion we show to our family and friends and extended it to people you don’t know, we would be contributing to making the world a better place. Even if half the people you were kind to pay it forward and were kind to someone else the impact would be life changing.
It all starts with ONE. I challenge you to be that one person.
Do something kind, loving, and/or compassionate for someone else. Someone you don’t know. It could be the homeless man on the train, the lady you see walking to work, or a perfect stranger you’ve never seen before. Then tell them to pay it forward to someone else to another stranger.
You will not only feel good about yourself for helping a person in need, but you will also be doing the world a great service.
Be the change you want to see!
